David Beckham ‘heartbroken’ his sons don’t play soccer

David Beckham is "heartbroken" his sons don’t play soccer anymore.
The 43-year-old retired soccer star – who has played for Manchester United, Preston North End, Real Madrid, Milan, LA Galaxy, Paris Saint-Germain and the England national team throughout his sporting career – is devastated that his boys Brooklyn, 19, Romeo, 15, and Cruz, 13, haven’t followed in his footsteps and excelled on the pitch and is relying on his six-year-old daughter Harper to keep his dream alive.
Speaking on ‘The Graham Norton Show’, which will air on Friday (11.05.18), he said: "Harper is playing every Sunday and loves it. The boys don’t play and it’s heartbreaking. They have a talent but it’s down to Harper now. I get very enthusiastic when watching her. The other day a boy took her down and I had to think how to react with all the other parents watching me. Do I act like a UNICEF Ambassador or do I act like Harper’s daddy? In the end, I let it go!"
Although his sons don’t have the same love for soccer as he does, they have excelled in other areas as Brooklyn is currently studying photography at Parsons School of Design in New York City and dreams of becoming a happy-snapper.
Romeo has seemingly followed in his mother Victoria Beckham’s footsteps and has developed an eye for fashion as he’s regularly asked to front campaigns for designers, while Cruz is planning to go into the music industry after school.
The teenager shocked the world two years ago when he released his debut single ‘If Every Day was Christmas’ at just 11 years old for a youth charity in the UK.
However, the kids – who are based in London with their mum Victoria – may have to work on their goals without their famous father around as much as he’s going to be spending a lot of time in the US now that he’s launching a soccer team in Miami.
He explained: "I’ll spend a lot of time there but the kids and Victoria are here."
‘The Graham Norton Show’ will air at 10:35pm tonight on BBC One.
