Daniel Brocklebank back on Corrie after holiday

Daniel Brocklebank is delighted to be back on ‘Coronation Street’ after taking a holiday.
The 38-year-old actor has had a packed few months when it comes to storylines as his alter ego, vicar Billy Mayhew, has been exposed for playing a part in the death of Ken Barlow’s daughter Susan in a car accident and then got hooked on heroin after suffering severe injuries in a cliff side tussle with Peter Barlow who wanted revenge for his late sister.
Whilst Billy has been away in rehab in the plot, Daniel actually used that plot break to take a well-earned vacation but he was back in Weatherfield in the episode that aired on Wednesday night (25.04.18).
Billy will now have to deal with the fallout from Pat Phelan being exposed as a serial killer and help his friend, and the builder’s beleaguered wife, Eileen Phelan come to terms with the truth about him.
Daniel posted on Twitter: "Thanks for all your lovely messages about Billy’s return to @itvcorrie! It’s lovely to be back!
"Well, I’ll let you into a little secret … while Billy was in rehab, I had a holiday [sic]"
As part of his storyline, Daniel acted in controversial scenes as Christian leader Billy was seen taking heroin inside a church.
The sequence – which aired at the end of Monday February 26th’s 8.30pm episode – attracted over 200 complaints to Ofcom but the regulatory body took no further action against the ITV soap.
This week it was announced that producer Kate Oates – who has been responsible for introducing several dark plots into the programme – is leaving ‘Corrie’ and handing over the job to former ‘Emmerdale’ chief Iain MacLeod in June.
